Borough Council

Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at Borough Hall, beginning at 7:30 pm. A work session meeting is held before the council meetings at 7:00 pm. Charles Grova

Mayor
Mayor Grova began his public service on the Borough’s Planning/Zoning board, being first appointed in the late-1990s. He was elected to two terms as a Borough Council member serving between 2007-2012, most as the Borough's Public Safety Chair. In 2021, Mayor Grova was appointed to fill a vacancy on council following the departure of Councilman Mallon. He was elected the following year to fill the remaining term. He was elected to his first term as Mayor in November of 2022. A third-generation Newfield resident, “Chuck” has volunteered with Newfield Fire Company #1; becoming a “Life Member” of the New Jersey Sate Firefighters Association, Newfield Ambulance Corps, and the Newfield Historical Society. Chuck did the “tour” of local South Jersey schools, attending Newfield's Edgarton Memorial, Delsea Regional High School, Cumberland County College, Glassboro State College, and Rutgers University School of Law, Camden. He is a Vice-President at Newfield National Bank where he just celebrated his 26th anniversary. Tom Corwonski was elected to office in November 2018. He has been a resident of Newfield his entire life and resides on Rosemont Avenue with his wife, Joanna, and two sons, Alex and Nicholas. Tom’s career in his family’s business has prepared him for the duties of Chairman of License and Inspections and Health and Welfare where he examines and reviews activities of the construction code office and reviews and maintains fee schedules for building, plumbing, electrical, and all permits as per borough ordinances. Although Tom has always been active in the community, he decided to run for public office because as a resident, he feels he must give back to the community. He prides himself on being a fair man and serves the residents of Newfield with integrity and pride. Duties include examining and reviewing activities of the construction code office; recommending to Borough Council any personnel change; reviewing and maintenance of up-to-date fee schedules for building, plumbing, electrical, and all other permits as per Borough Ordinances. councilcorwonski@newfieldboro.org

Michael Carrow

Council President | Chair Finance | Vice Chair Public Safety
Council President Michael Carrow was first elected to office in November 2005. He has been a resident of Newfield for 30 years and resides at 204 Stotesbury Avenue with his wife Tracy. They have two children, Jonathan and Kristen. Mr. Carrow was previously Director of Sales & Marketing for Chestertown Foods, as well as owner of Newfield Consulting Inc. and Newfield Transportation LLC. His extensive sales, management, and business ownership has prepared him for Chairman of the Finance Committee. Council President Carrow has served as Shade Tree Liaison and is a former parish council member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. He has also served as a board member of Edgarton Christian Academy. Jennifer Marandino

Councilwoman Jennifer Marandino was elected to Borough Council in November 2022. Before being elected Jennifer served on the Newfield Day Committee, which transitioned into the Recreation (Special Events) Committee. Jennifer grew up in Hammonton and moved to Newfield in 2005 with her husband Jared. The two live in the Borough with their daughter Peyton. Jennifer serves as the Executive Director of the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization in Vineland. Jennifer is a registered Professional Engineer. councilmarandino@newfieldboro.org

Councilwoman Christina Renzi was appointed to Borough Council in August 2023 to fill a vacated seat. She was then elected in November 2023. Christina has lived in Newfield for the past eight years with her two children, Emma and John. Christina is a Senior Compliance Manager and Team Lead in banking.
